Strange. The listserve seems to be displaying my first line twice.
 
I spent an excellent day birding with Tom Feild and Frode Jacobsen (12/9). We started at the Study Road pond in Carroll Co., then birded backroads and water areas in Carroll, Frederick, and Montgomery Counties. We also had some luck on our way back through Howard Co. Here are some highlights:

We ended the day with a nice sunset at Brighton Dam, shivering and waiting for the Cackling Goose to finish swimming to the Montgomery side of the reservoir. ;)
