Annie and I stopped by the Perryville Park for short while this afternoon.
In addition to countless American Coot and Tundra Swan, we had many duck
species including Gadwall, Ring-neck, Bufflehead, Black, Hooded Merganser, a few
American Widgeon, and of course Mallard. The highlight of the short trip however
was a Peregrine Falcon that landed in a tree less than 30 feet from us! The
flew from the Charter Hall side of the flats, landed on the tree immediately
in front of us, and was startled moments later when a car drove up. It flow
off directly over Havre deGrace, so local CBC participants may want to keep an
eye out anywhere in the lower Sussky area (assuming it is going to stick
around). |
