Hi Dave,
The Baltimore Orioles' main winter quarters are in Mexico and Central
America, with smaller numbers wintering along the Gulf coast and up to the
Carolinas. They normally depart our region starting in late July with
stragglers leaving by the end of September. Occasionally, a few birds
attempt overwintering along the Mid-Atlantic, feeding on suet, leftover
fruits and berries, and even nectarfeeders left out for vagrant
hummingbirds. Actually, a Baltimore Oriole even seen at a backyard feeder
in Ontario just this week, with slim chances of survival in the harsh
current weather conditions. I hope this answers your question.
