This will show my ignorance in identifying these species.  Someone a week or
so ago said they'd seen a Sandhill crane in this area.  Well, there's
definitely something still there-I got the very quick rear view of a very
large grey bird foraging for food, but unfortunately had to keep going to be
somewhere on time.  : (

 

Also we had a few American crows in the yard this a.m.,  one crow gulped
down an acorn whole.  I'd never seen that before.
