I see the Tropical Kingbird site is near the Whitehaven Ferry. For those who would like to take a more scenic and pleasant route to the Tropical Kingbird site than the expressways around Salisbury, can anyone confirm whether the Whitehaven Ferry is still operating? 

It is, or was, a great way to go in that direction if you like to explore remote corners of our overpopulated state, but I haven't tried it for several years. (If the ferry is not running, then it requires a BIG detour.) I've always been amazed that such a wonderful anachronism kept running so long. I hope it's still running.

(My normal route coming from Megalopolis via Route 50 was down Riggin Rd east of Mardela Springs, through Quantico and down Whitehaven Rd, more or less.)
