I've seen the Peregrine pair that live on/near the American Legion Bridge several times in the last couple of weeks and had good looks from a location off of the C&O Canal today.  One of them was feeding on a smallish bird.  I could not really see it well but the tail looked a lot like that of a Downy or Hairy Woodpecker, possibly caught as it was trying to cross the river.
