MD Osprey:

FYI. There is an interesting web site here that deals with Tropical,
Couch's, and Western Kingbirds, based on Cornell specimens ...

         http://www.birds.cornell.edu/crows/kingbirdsX.htm

Here's a problematic tryannus from New York in 2003, probably NOT a
Tropical ...

         http://www.oceanwanderers.com/NYTyrannus.html

Here's a report on the first Couch's Kingbird for California ...

         http://fog.ccsf.cc.ca.us/~jmorlan/coki.html

FYI. I did hear our bird vocalize, twice; a relatively long, drawn
out, tinkling (I'm not good with describing vocalizations), but NOT a
sharp short single or even double note call, nor any rising tones.
Good for Tropical.

Also, some of my images show a thin light edge to the outer rectrix,
but not wide and bright, like a Western Kingbird.

Hope this helps ...

Phil
