I'm posting this on behalf of Dr. R. Gutberlet, in town and birding his way through the mid-Atlantic for the holidays. Today at approx 1:30 p.m. he was either a Clark's or Western Grebe on the ocean wehere Delaware 54 ends, just a bit north of the beach access.

The bird was in the ocean with Red-throated loons and gannets. He got a good look at it, it was next to a Red-throated loon and it had a much longer neck. It had white front, throat, and belly, dark grey nape, long yellow bill, and black crown, darker that the nape.

If anyone's nearby they may want to check it out.
