Hi Everyone,

The TROPICAL KINGBIRD was present this morning from at least 11:50 a.m. to
12:30 p.m. I was there from 7:30 a.m., and was losing hope until the day
warmed enough for tiny insects and their deadly, out-of-range predator. I
was joined - in order of appearance - by Dave Czaplak, Joe Burns, Mike
Walsh, Chris Dominick, George Armistead and Co., Saundra Byrd, and several
out-of-state birders. I was getting nervous about having to leave when
suddenly Dave heard the bird and pointed it out as it flew over the field
across from the gray house. The kingbird landed in the trees south of the
house and was quite confiding for at least 45 minutes. It was still
providing great studies when I had to leave at 12:30 p.m. The bird
vocalized several times while I was there and sounded great to me. What a
way to end the birding year!

Happy New Year!
