In the Bird Storm at my feeders this weekend I had 10-15 Purple Finches (I believe) along with the usual suspects in larger numbers than usual.

Also the large flock of Candian Geese at Herrington has departed, taking the Brant with them evidently, they've been gone a couple of days. In its place a smallish flock of Ring Bill Gulls, a bedraggled grumpy looking Blue Heron and a few Killdeer.

They are starting to show up ...

A flock of 15 (!) was sighted in Anne Arundel County on Sunday
(12/31/2006) on the South Haven peninsula and yesterday (1/2/2007),
we had a male on our feeders here in nearby Davidsonville.
