1/8/07 - an afternoon trip to Liberty Lake had little to recommend it:

1/11/07 - Hashawha / Bear Branch Nature Center:

PHOEBE  1, still nine days before the winter count
Fish Crow  1 heard
Winter Wren  2
Bluebird  2
YELLOWTHROAT  1 male, obviously fooled by the recent warm weather
Field Sparrow  1
Fox Sparrow  1
Song Sparrow  17
Swamp Sparrow  1
White-throated Sparrow  6
Junco  25

   There are probably lots of good territories remaining for the Winter Count. Contact Bill Ellis. Unfortunately it is the same day as the C&O Canal count and I will be away for most of the day there.
