I would like to chime in on one or two things. I think this kind of
discussion is healthy.

Gail said; "What's the difference between laying out bird seed in a field or
playing
(recordings) and/or giving calls to attract birds in a field or woods?"

Well, depending on the time of year a playing a recording could be horrible
for a nesting bird laying out a territory. This time of year for a song
bird, I don't believe would be as devastating. Compare this to laying out
some seed to the ground for all to eat. I don't see the problem. We all feed
birds in our feeders. There is really no difference in my mind. Please don't
take this as a bad tone. I am just trying to make a gentle point, and you
asked in a question. Remember in e-mail you can't hear tone.

Anyway, Unfortunately, the brush and habitat is on the books to be destroyed
and turned into more town homes. I say, lay out the mullet while you can.
