Hi all,Thank you to everyone that responded to my query about Kestrels and Blue-winged Teal. It seems that I've not seen many of either these last two years, though I did get a Kestrel in Maryland in 2005. Generally, these have been two birds that one is almost guaranteed to see in a year in all the places I've lived in my years as a birder. The info provided was most helpful and informative, though I was really wondering if anyone had seen any of either out there "in the field" in an area that would be easier to access for me. To be honest, I'm not all that enamored with the Atlantic shore area of Maryland, though I have seen a few good birds down there. It's just that it seemed easier to get to the ocean when I was in San Antonio than it is here, even though I believe I am closer to it, mileage wise.Right now, I'm still very giddy about what transpired last evening in San Diego, as it's lights out for a U of Md. alum and his teammates.Good birding,Richard
