I have a solitary blackbird here that I think is a female Common Grackle.
The head, neck and throat are a deep iridescent green, but the body
is a very dull brown, with only a hint of purple on the primaries and tail.
Bright yellow eyes.

The tail seems on the short side and the bird keeps flicking it
up, even while it's eating. Do grackles normally flick their tails?
I can't say I've ever noticed that when a whole flock is here.
