I lead a trip for MBC to Black Hill RP. We found a total of 40 species.
List below. Highlights being a male Northern Shoveler along the rip rap
near the boat ramp and a pair of Bald Eagles in the big tree near the
Rt.121 cove. We observed the bald eagles copulate (or attempt to).
After which, Clair Wolfe observed one of the eagles fly to the ground
and pick up some grass and fly off towards the dam before we lost sight.
Nesting material? The Ten Mile Crk area was very slow. Missing were Am
Wigeons and Canvasbacks, I had seen earlier in the week. We walked the
Turkey Hill and Lake View loops in the Ten Mile Crk area but landbirds
were few and far between.
