We keep getting close to 40 species here in our neighborhood but have
yet to hit that number this week.  Today we did see a magnificent
Cooper's Hawk hit a House Finch in a cloud of feathers, and then later
a Sharp-shinned Hawk streaking down the street in pursuit of some
unknown LBJ.

We went over to Ocean Pines to see if we could locate the "missing"
Canvasbacks and indeed we did, along with the lone Redhead.  The
Griffin Road ponds held pretty much the same waterfowl we've been
seeing everywhere else.  Green-winged Teal seem to be in short supply
in the usual spots but we did locate a nice flock of them a few weeks
back in the Berlin Sewage Lagoons, so they CAN be found as well.
