Several years back now, Fran spent a significant portion of her time
compiling a list of bird rehab centers for the MOS website. Shortly
after she made it available on mdbirds.org, the identical list showed
up on the DNR website, with no attribution. I don't know if the
current listing from DNR has been improved or expanded but I was
surprised that they couldn't be bothered to let people know where
there original listing came from.

I suppose bureacracies are the same the world over...

Subject: [MDOSPREY] MD nuisance wildlife HOTLINE and etc.

Because i seem to have a skunk family that has taken up residence on
my property, i asked the MD DNR if they had any suggestions. They
responed with the information shown below, which i am passing on as an
informational item. Since this is not bird-related, if you want to
respond, i would suggest doing so off list.

However, while i was talking to the staff there i aslo asked for
information relating to bird rehabiltators in the FRED/WASH county
area and they responded by sending me a comprehensive state-wide
listing of bird/mammal rehabbers. If anyone, wants this list, send me
an e-mail off list and i will send it (Excel
file) to you. It might be nice to have for those times like my recent
windshield encounter with a Flicker...
