At the Ocean City Fishing Center (aka Shantytown, sw corner of Rt. 50
bridge), there was a Red-necked Grebe, 3-5 Horned Grebe, a Tricolored
Heron, and, of course, the Thick-billed Murre, which showed up in the
canal along the townhouses at about 10:30 or so on the rising tide.

The murre was first seen by Hank Kaestner at the inlet as it swept in
with the tide about 10:00 am. Also, in the ocean off the old fishing
pier were a pair of Harlequin Ducks.

At the West Ocean City Marina (the commercial fishing marina off Golf
Course Road and Sunset Avenue, south of Rt. 50) there were another 2
Red-necked Grebes, located by Hans Holbrook.

The flats from Hoopers Restaurant held a huge mix of loafing gulls, a
few Dunlin, a few American Oystercatchers, one Black-bellied Plover,
some Brant, and a basking Harbor Seal.

According to Jim Stasz and Ed Boyd, the pond at Eagle's Landing Golf
Course once again held the Eurasian Wigeon.

Best,
