Hi all,

I know this wont compare with the T B Murre , but while all of you were
in O.C. looking at T B Murre (may try this weekend )I was at the Conowingo
Dam looking at Bald Eagles . Though I did not see the 90 recently reported
I did see 8 . Happily two did venture to the parking lot for my nephew (4) and
goddaughter (30) to get some closeup views . Not as exciting as last year
when i had 18 from the parking area . Also had a Brown creeper here too.

Id like to say a little about this years Annual List Report for Maryland .
Since I was just 50 birds short of making it to the List of Listers Id like to say I
had a successful year by adding 39 new birds to my Md. life list . Thankfully by
reading posting on the MdOsprey and going on birdwalks with other birders.
Anyone who doesnt already know , theMdYellowthroat is a good resource for
bird fieldtrips . It lists trips for all counties. Ill be out there getting the other
50 this year and looking forward to meeting more of you .

And lastly wanted to mention that after four years of birdfeeding I have
finally attracted 2 mockingbirds to my yard by putting out apple halves and a
suet feeder with some peanut butter balls that mom made. Dont tell her.
I think its helped that they have a separate feeding area . These feeders are
by the house and the other feeders are about 100 feet down the yard .
Anyway just amazed to finally have caught their attention . And YES i know ,
they are not the friendliest birds . Ill probably get attacked this summer.

Another reminder
Blackwater Eagle Festival March 10th
not this weekend but the next . Hope to see you all there.

21 days till SPRING even though one would think it started yesterday :)
