I live in Hamilton- 2 miles north of Lauraville - and about 3:30 I saw the
same flock of grackles perhaps. I estimate there were between 20 to 25
robins on the ground between the yards of my house and my neighbor's house,
four goldfinches at the feeder, with considerable yellow showing in the two
males; one mocking bird singing on the roof of the garage; two bluejays in
the shrubbery, eight house finches also at the feeders, two titmice, two
chickadees, one song sparrow, five doves, a pair of cardinals, three crows;
a sharpie in the catalpa tree in my neighbor's yard, - and now I've stopped
counting, and the birds have flown because of the sharpie. It is nice to
know there are bluebirds in the area.
I have been in Georgia all week, and they are about three weeks ahead of us
I think - crocus, daffodils are all blooming - and the goldfinches are
almost all yellow. So, spring is definitely headed our way, traveling 200
miles a week I think.
Peace to you all,
Eleanor

Same here in my very urban back yard in Lauraville, Northeast Baltimore,
yesterday--same species as seen by Jessica enjoying the big black walnut
tree in the afternoon sun (exception: no bluebirds, but some nice
white-throated sparrows).

I just had my first flock of grackles (20 or so) fly over the house
while cleaning and filling feeders in the backyard. As I was about to
go inside, seven robins showed up briefly and then took off again.
Bluebirds, house finches, and song sparrows have all been singing in
the yard.
