I am Paul Kilduff in Baltimore

I manage the nestbox trail at Oregon Ridge. I could use two volunteers each
to monitor 4-5 pairs/triples of nestboxes at least once per week, with relief
provided in case of need (vacation, etc.). Duties consist of opening the box,
checking the contents, recording data, and emailing results. Make your own
schedule, but we ask for monitoring no more than eight days after previous
monitoring. Aside from travel time to Oregon Ridge Park in Cockeysville
(Shawan Rd and Beaver Dam Rd), it should take about an hour to check the
boxes + however long it takes to send the email.

Nestboxes are built to accomodate Eastern Bluebirds and Tree Swallows -- we
get some House Wrens and very occasionally Chickadees. We unfortunately
also get some House Sparrows.

The season is April through July, with maybe some activity in August.

No experience necessary, we will train you and you basically learn as you go,
although there's lots of good info available to help you prepare (_Bluebird
Monitor's Guide_ is highly recommended. There are plenty of online resources,
especially sialis.org)

It's fun!
