See Life Paulagics is running a pelagic trip on Saturday, April 7 out
of Lewes, DE. This is an underexplored time of year. The trip we ran
in 2004 out of Lewes had an interesting mix of winter and spring
birds, including over 90 Razorbills (many in breeding plumage), Common
Murres, Fulmars, Sooty Shearwaters, a probable Manx Shearwater, and
Red Phalaropes. In addition, there was an incredible show of Northern
Gannets.

Our hope is that April is the time of year to find an albatross and/or
Great Skua in our area. Both birds, when reported on the East Coast,
are often found in the company of large numbers of Gannets and gulls.
In April, large schools of Mackerel, Herring, and baitfish are move
north past our coast, and large flocks of Gannets and gulls follow.

The trip is scheduled to run from 6:00 AM to about 6:00 PM, and we
plan on visiting both DE and MD pelagic waters. The cost is $130.
