Hi all

I tried Ocean City on Monday, March 5, with less luck.

There were no Harlequins or Eiders visible. The Murre, if he was still
there, was hiding (probably snickering at the cold guy with the scope).
Loons, Bonaparte's Gulls, Surf Scoters, Horned Grebes and red-breasted
mergansers were about it. Two Bald eagles (1 adult, 1 immature) circled over
the jetty area before moving on. Like Danny Poet in his last message, I saw
American Black Ducks out by the jetty and wondered what puddle ducks were
doing out in rough salt water. Purple sandpipers, Turnstones, and
sanderlings were cooperative, and I did find a Dunlin among the Purple
Sandpipers. The Laughing Gull was visible from Hooper's restaurant.

I ran up to the Indian River Inlet and if you do not wish to read about
Delaware birds, under no circumstances should you read the next four
sentences. There were four great cormorants, and a flock of 42 long-tailed
ducks. (I don't remember seeing so large a flock of long-tailed ducks
before.) Also, two Royal Terns flew by. It seems early for Royal Term to me.
