Hi Folks,

Like so many of the fortunate, Elaine and I were also able to capitalize on
Bob Ringler's great owl find yesterday afternoon (3/6/07). This was
Elaine's second life bird in Carroll Co. this year (GWF Goose being the
other), compliments of Bob. After spending some time enjoying the Long-ears
at Morgan Run, Elaine and I stopped at Piney Run Reservoir on the way home
and tallied the following:

Tundra Swan--100+
Am. Black Duck--2
Mallard
Ring-necked Duck--5
Canvasback--8
Bufflehead--15
Common Goldeneye--1 male
Hooded Merganser--pair
Common Merganser--100s
Ruddy Duck--2
Ring-billed Gull--5
Herring Gull--1 adult swimming with the Common Mergs at south end of lake
Hairy Woodpecker--1
N. Flicker--1

Thanks, Bob, for allowing so many folks to enjoy unusually good views of
a tough-to-find bird.
