This morning I visited the Loch Raven Reservoir at the #1 bridge, then
proceeded to the bridge on Paper Mill Road that overlooks the the Paper
Mill Flats and then to the farm pond on Cold Bottom Rd. in search of the
Eurasian Wigeon.
At the #1 bridge the best birds were 8 Tundra Swans that flew off around
9 am, a pair of Northern Shovelers, a first winter Red-necked Grebe and
a first winter Bonapart's Gull who had the dark wing tips and the narrow
dark M pattern.
Below the bridge on Paper Mill Road were
Wood Duck 4
Gadwall 2
American Black Duck 24
Mallard 6
Green-winged Teal 1
On route to the farm pond on Cold Bottom Rd., I saw a pair of Eastern
Phoebe on Yeoho Rd but no Wigeon of any kind on the farm pond.
