We were not present for the Blackwater Eagle Festival, but were there  at the 
end of the weekend, late on Sunday evening. We were pleased to  hear a 
Screech Owl a little distance from the first parking lot and  even more pleased a 
few minutes later to hear a Woodcock peenting and whirring  nearby.
 
Monday morning we saw nine White Pelicans standing on a mud flat, and then  
they all flew out of sight. Compared to Sunday, there were very few birds  
present in general, other than Canada Geese. We saw the Great Egret both  days.
