Hi all,

Well, my old nemesis insomnia has me up sipping coffee (hmm.maybe I should
not drink coffee when I can't sleep.) in the wee hours. I was delighted to
step outside on this relatively mild night to hear the eerie but beautiful
calls of a flock of migrating Tundra Swans far overhead. Conventional
knowledge holds that during spring migration to their breeding grounds from
the Atlantic estuaries where they spend the winter, Tundra Swans migrate
mainly during the day. Not over South Mountain tonight. They were
obviously glad to be flying north. Smart birds, indeed.
