I spent about two pleasant, song-filled hours this morning at Powell's
Run Rd in western Baltimore County, mainly in the open area towards the
Marriottsville Road end. The big highlight was about 15 Fox Sparrows,
many of them singing vigorously and easy to see. I also heard my
first-of-the-season singing Field Sparrows. There were two singing
Bluebirds, and a Kingfisher was rattling frequently. Quarry machinery
contributed more percussion to the symphony.
