Here in upper Montgomery Co we're getting a steady wet snowfall -- and it's
really brought out the birds, which I've been watching over the last 3 hours.
I've had:
an E Towhee (a very rare visitor to my yard)
over 2 doz juncos at one time
appx 15 M and F cardinals at one time
a few white-throated sparrows
a number of house sparrows
3 or 4 pairs of house finches
several Am Goldfinches
a F red-bellied woodpecker vying with a mockingbird (!) for the suet feeder
a FOX sparrow (my first!)
titmice and chicadees
just a few doves
I sympathized with the 4 Robins trying to find something to eat through the
wet slush in the back.
A flock of about 100 mixed cowbirds, red-winged blackbirds (M and F) and
grackles (M and F) decended upon the feeders.
I filled the 6 feeders at 4 when I got home and they're all just about empty.
So many dinner guests...
