Hi all,
We had to take our dog to the vet early this morning so he didn't get his
usual walk till after 10 or so. While out standing by the pond, we somehow
spooked what I thought was an American Woodcock, which was hunkered down in a
tiny wet "rivulet" of rain/snowmelt between the hedgerow. It flew to the woods
into the tangle, and I took the dog back home and came back out to search for
it. I walked the wet woods (very open next to a field) and found nothing, but
when I went back to the property where we live, it once again flushed from
the wet grassy area in the corner. This time I got a good look as it flew back
into the woods, and etermined it was a woodcock.

Also saw my first E. Phoebe of the season fly into the willow next to the
pond!

Cheers,
