Hi all,

This morning I birded one of my favorite haunts, Lake Frank in Rockville.
The weather was changing but still nice, and much bird activity. Waterfowl on the lake:

  17 Common Mergansers
  4 Mallards
  8 Ring necked Ducks
  5 Canada Geese
  4 Pied billed Grebes

I was greatly surprised at the appearence of 3 River Otters that played on the bank accross from me. I had never seen them before at Lake Frank. A good sign surely!
  Woodland birds etc.

  7 Eastern Bluebirds
2 Cooper's Hawks (mating and nest building) Female was perched calling constantly "raw, raw" and the male brought twigs to the nest, and did housekeeping.
  3 Belted Kingfishers
  Titmice & Chickadees
  1 Northern Flicker
20+ Dark eyed Juncos and White thrt Sparrows
  Common Crows
  Grackles & R.W Blackbirds 50+
