Hi All,

On my lunch break a friend and I walked over to National Airport to see what was around. We had a very cooperative pair of Horned Grebes that came within 10 feet of shore. The male was near breeding plumage - what a treat! We also had a couple of scaup, and a pied bill Grebe. The highlight probably was the Eastern Meadowlark out in the airport fields. It was funny because I said - hey wouldn't it be nice if there was a horned lark or meadowlark was out there? Within moments we got on one!

Also, the Peregrine Falcons are still sharing the railroad bridge with the courting Osprey. It'll be interesting to see when they finally go north!
