Eastern Meadowlarks (3) were perched and singing on the fence along the
Edgewood airstrip in Harford County. I thought maybe I was hearing them last
week over the wind and cool, but they were out in the open today. This is
not a new location for them, as they have sung from these posts for many
years, well into the summer. The area itself is becoming a beautiful, albeit
small, rejuvenated mixed-grass prairie. Hearing the meadowlark song
resonating over the "priarie" isn't a bad way to start a work day (although a
better way to start a birding day).
