Hi Everyone,

Helen Patton and I toured several Southern MD counties today. The best bird of the day was a Immature plumaged Clay-colored Sparrow, found in St.Mary's county near the mailbox / hedgerow at 49976 Longneck Road near Point Lookout. The bird was in the company of Chippies, Song, Field and Savannahs.

Other birds seen during the day.

Northern Gannets were seen in AA, Calvert and St. Mary's Counties.

Calvert County - At North Beach, there were two male Shovellers near the pier with a group of Mallards. In the marsh separating Calvert from Anne Arundel, there was a Sanderling on the mud flat with forty plus Wilson's Snipe. Also seen were Wigeon, Green-winged and Blue-winged Teal. At Calvert Cliffs State Park, Yellow-throated, yellow-rumped and Pine Warbler were seen as well Red-headed Woodpecker, both kinglets and a White-breasted Nuthatch. At the Thomas Johnson Bridge, a Peregrine was seen on the Calvert side.

Great day to be out.

Regards,

Dave Powell
