This posting (with Norm’s OK) is not related to birding in Maryland, but is for Maryland birders. As many of you know, I used to live and bird in MD, am a member of MOS and Honorary Life Member of the Anne Arundel Bird Club. A local ornithologist and I have put together a Maine birding trip, in June, for the AABC and Maryland birders.

There is still space for one more person on this birding extravaganza from June 16th to the 24th. The trip starts in southern Maine and ends up in Downeast Maine in the Campobello Island/Lubec area. A whale watch trip for pelagics out of Boothbay Harbor and a boat trip to Machias Seal Island for Atlantic Puffin, Razorbills, Common Murres, Roseatte and Artic Terns are included. This is a great opportunity to see the beauty of Maine, lots of warblers in their breeding territory, hopefully a number of boreal species and the cool, clean Maine air. The leader is Herb Wilson, head of the Biology Department at Colby College and well known local Ornithologist. We did a similar trip in 2003, ending up with 150 species.

Please contact me, Al Haury, at or 207-465-7236 within the next two weeks of you are interested in going. I will provide you with more details, the full itinerary and cost of the trip.
