I stopped briefly this morning at Lake Artemesia hoping for another chance
to see the Caspian Terns that I saw Friday (thanks to Mike Ostrowski passing
along his initial sighting).

I'm pretty sure that I saw one flying away from the lake as I was passing
the Washington Post facility and worried that was it but was pleased to find
3 more at the lake. At times, they were as close as 50ft or so; my 3 yr.
old enjoyed seeing them so close. They left before we did and we were only
there for perhaps 20 minutes. They were headed sort of NE (in the general
direction of Greenbelt Lake?), but I think it likely they'll be back
sometime later in the day... they seemed to come/go when I saw them Friday
as well (had 2, possibly 3 on Friday).

Other birds noted at the lake: 13 DC Cormorants, 5-6 Wood Ducks, 1 PB Grebe,
and 1 Barn, 2-3 N. R-W and a handful of Tree swallows, but we came mostly
for the terns :)

Good birding,
