Another Birding Report from Pickering Creek

    While checking Bluebird boxes along a trail that loops around the
Pickering Creek wetlands, I had a chance for a bit more thorough view of
some of the wetland species.  Today's visit provided views of the following:
    Pied-billed Grebe         2
    American Coot           23+
    Northern Shoveler     12+
    Blue-winged Teal         3
    Green-winged Teal     38+
    Black Duck                     2
     Mallards                            4
    Wood Duck                        4   (2 pair)
     Wilson's Snipe               2
     Greater Yellowlegs             5
 
    Also -
    Bald Eagle                            1
    Red-tailed Hawk                  3
    Tree Swallows                numerous
    Northern Rough-winged Swallow    1
    Barn Swallow                    several
    Sparrows - Song, Swamp, Savannah, Chipping, Field
    Pine Warbler
 
    Bluebird Nesting Status - Seven active nests, two eggs in one of the
nests  (20 boxes checked)
