Hi Folks,

spurred by Bob Ringler's recent findings at Piney Run Reservoir in Carroll
Co., I headed there after work today, and spent about an hour scanning from
the "wild" end of the lake, off of White Rock Rd. I did not see the
White-winged Scoter, which I noticed from Fred Fallon's post is still
present. However, I did get good looks at an adult LITTLE BLUE HERON, which
I suspected was not a common bird in Carroll Co. I called up Bob and left a
message with him, and he later emailed me to say that there are no previous
Spring records of this bird in Carroll Co. Some of the finds today,
including all waterfowl:

Canada Goose--8
Am. Black Duck--4
Mallard--8
GW Teal--12
L. Scaup--5

Pileated Woodpecker--1 calling

BANK SWALLOW--1
Barn Swallow--2 or 3
BG Gnatcatcher--1 heard
Brown Thrasher--1 singing
