I spent about an hour at Lake Artemesia this afternoon (from 2:30
to 3:30, roughly) but was unable to relocate either the Black-
crowned Night Heron or the American Pipets reported earlier today
by Robert (nor, for that matter, the Cliff Swallow that I saw on
Tuesday). I did see 7 Caspian Terns (I never tire of watching
them) and 3 Ospreys (one with a large fish). Also, the 2 Common
Loons were still present.

However, I got my real consolation prize late this afternoon when I
took the dog down to Greenbelt Lake: a pair of Blue-winged Teal
(male and female). They were in the little sediment pond at the
South Bay end of the lake - a nice addition to my "neighborhood"
list.
