Not that anyone needs an update on the changing of the seasons, but
with spring and the birds also comes ticks. My girlfriend Emery and I
went out for a hike and some birding this afternoon around West
Annapolis. After dinner, she found a little TICK crawling on her (she
is much sweeter than I it would seem).

That said, enjoy the birds and PUT ON your tick repellent!

Oh, and we saw...

1 Caspian Tern
4 Osprey
1 Palm Warbler
2 Eastern Phoebe
4 Northern Cardinal
1 Blue Jay
7 Grackle
2 European Starling
1 Tutfted Titmouse
1 Downy Woodpecker
1 Barn Swallow
2 Tree Swallow
2 Mallard
2 Bufflehead
1 Chipping Sparrow
2 Song Sparrow
1 Carolina Chickadee
4 Mourning Dove
2 Northern Mockingbird
1 Red Winged Blackbird
3 American Goldfinch
1 Black Vulture

I'm also lending a hend with monitoring the Bluebird boxes at
Greenbury Point in Annapolis. It's good exercise and good fun. On
Thursday, while hiking the point, I checked in on 21 of the 50 or 60
boxes that are up. Aside from the beginnings of one questionable
nest, there was not one to be found... yet.

And now I'm really looking forward to this weekend. Enjoy everyone.
Apply the repellent liberally.
