Early this afternoon the dog took me for a walk around Greenbelt
Lake. So, as a result, I did a fair amount of birding by ear.
Nonetheless, we managed to hear and/or see some very good birds.

Here are the highlights:

Wood Duck - 3 males, 2 females
Spotted Sandpiper - 2 (FOY)
Solitary Sandpiper - 1 (FOY)
Red-eyed Vireo - 1 heard
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher - several heard
Wood Thrush - 1 heard
Prothonotary Warbler - 1 female (FOY)
Northern Parula Warbler - 1 heard
Yellow-rumped Warbler - too many to count!
Palm Warbler (Yellow) - 1 (FOY)
Yellow Warbler - 1 (FOY)
Eastern Towhee - 1 male
White-throated Sparrow - still many here
ORCHARD ORIOLE - 1 male (FOY)

Back at home, the Rose-breasted Grosbeak that I reported yesterday
continued to visit the deck feeder today. Although I had no
trouble "calling" the Blue Grosbeak that I also reported yesterday,
the blue finch that showed up today (also on the deck feeder) is
looking an awful lot like an immature male Indigo Bunting. Is
that even possible?
