Dear All

With apologies for the sightly tardy post.

Thanks to any people who responded to my post on Thursday with ideas for
bird finding in the district.

In the end - for various reasons - we were not able to do a full day out in the
field but it was really great to be out on such a beautiful day. We started at
Rock Creek Park, thence to Hians Point and finished at Fletcher's Boatyard.
We didn't see anything remakable but high spots were:

- good numbers of Palm & Yellow-rumped Warblers in RC Park, plus three Blue-
headed Vireos and FOY Ovenbird singing
- 2 Forster's Terns, Horned Grebe, Green Heron & Red-breated Merg at Hains Pt
- a nice Louisiana Waterthrush, White-eyed Vireo and two Parulas at Fletchers

We ended up with 76 species by 1.30pm and reckoned that we wouild have
brushed 90 spp had we gone on to the Anacostia and the Arboretum.

Cheers

Gary
