Some great birds at the Arboretum today, and azaleas, too. Took over 40 minutes to locate the constantly buzzing blue-winged warbler (up the hill from the holly collection), but managed to finally get good looks. The hooded warbler gave good looks in the understory on the azalea hillside. Other warblers seen were many yellow rumps, northern parula, black and white, ovenbird, palm, and common yellowthroat (heard only).

There were white eyed, red eyed, and blue headed vireos, and one orchard oriole flew from tree to tree around the visitors center. Several hermit thrushes and brown thrashers and many chipping sparrows and blue-gray gnatcathers.
