Greetings,
I went to the Henryton and Daniels sections of the Patapsco Valley State Park this morning (Maryland Delorme pg 57, B5 & B6 in north Howard County off of Old Frederick Road).
The highlight at Henryton was a BROAD-WINGED HAWK. I was alerted by a crow which flushed it from a tree across the river from the parking lot at the end of the road. It flew back to the Ho Co side and then away into the woods. It called/whistled several times.
At Daniels there was a BARRED OWL on the path that follows the stream into the woods south of the small parking lot.
There were singing NORTHERN PARULA, LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH and BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER at both locations.
