Hi all,

I haven't posted in a while, but then I haven't been
birding much lately either. I went for a walk at
lunch today, on the grounds of Springfield Hospital
Center (where I work). It was a short, but very
sweet, walk. The highlights, both FOY birds for me,
were the singing Eastern Meadowlark and a Savannah
Sparrow. I learned another sound the meadowlark makes
(I think, anyway) - a "zweee" kind of sound, made in
flight. Another FOY bird for me was a House Wren.
Other birds include:

American Robin
Northern Cardinal
House Finch
Eastern Phoebe
Carolina Chickadee
Hairy Woodpecker
Downy Woodpecker
Northern Flicker
Canada Geese (2 pairs)
Great Blue Heron (1 pair, flyover)
Black Vulture
Turkey Vulture
Northern Mockingbird
Brown Thrasher
Field Sparrow (heard only)
Chipping Sparrow
Chimney Swift

I love Fridays!!!!!
