I was out of town this week and got in late Friday eve. I read many of the
posts and realized it was a great week I missed here. No complaint 'tho, I
saw some very cool birds and b-flies in AZ. I went out here Sat morn at 7:30,
and first warbler I heard was a Northern Parula. The second two were both
Blackpolls, and I thought - Darn, I missed the spring migration!!

There were many new birds for my house list, 12 FOYs on Sat and 2 more
today. I also am pretty sure I saw a Prairie Warbler here, but it was only a
very brief look. I have never seen one here, so it was pretty frustrating
having a short, obscured view. There was a Yellow gleaning here at the same
time, and they can be similar (to me) depending on the view; but the chest
streaking was dark and heavy, and black. It was amazing how much it leafed
out this week in my absence!

Highlights were 10 warblers Saturday (nothing unusual except the early
Blackpolls; 7 were FOYs); Eastern Kingbird; Black-crowned Night Heron (very
seldom seen at our house); Blue-headed Vireo; House Wren (only 3rd record
here, they are very uncommon in So. PG Co.); and best bird of all was a
Cattle Egret (only 2nd record here; also very uncommon at Jug Bay).
