This morning, Melinda and I walked around Schooley Mill. As we parked,
an Orchard Oriole sang to us, and again
at the end of our 2 hour walk. Several tens of Prairie warblers were
present, as well as many Yellowthroats. Catbirds and
Wood thrushes were back, and we spotted Blue headed Vireos and Hooded
warblers. A few parulas were also heard.
Otherwise, the usual birds were there, including Wood Ducks, eastern
bluebirds, goldfinches, etc.
When we returned home, the big surprise was a Rose Breasted Grosbeak at
our feeder, the first in over 20 years!
