Hi all just to note the birds seen this weekend in QA and Caroline
County
On Saturday early morning I hung around home to see if the Rose
breasted Grosbeak was still around . It soon showed up feeding on
sunflower seed from a tube feeder this time made several vists of about
5 minutes each . Providing a chance to shoot several shots with my
camera while it was on the feeder . They are ok if anyone wants to see
email me . Woodthrush Singing in the woods, Downy , Red Bellied and
Hairy Woodpeckers . A vist in late morning to Tuckahoe State Park on
the lake boat ramp trail on the QA side of the lake provided looks at
Green Heron Blue Gray Gnatcatchers . Yellow Rumps , 1 Palm Warbler [
yellow ] , Chickadee , Titmouse , Orchard Oriole male female pair, 1
drake Northern Shoveler and a fresh from his whirlwind Talbot county bird
tour 1 John Hubble . In the parking lot one yellow Warbler after John
had left . on to the Caroline County side 1 Red eyed Vireo ,
Cardinal . Campground Trail on Cherry lane was next Blueheaded Vireo
seen several times , 2 Woodthrush , 1 Ovenbird heard only , More yellow
Rumps , Scarlet Tanager , many White Throated Sparrows were still
around , Downy woodpecker . Red bellied Woodpecker . Then to Ridgely on
Hoglot road checking the same wet spot as last week there were both
species of yellowlegs , 2 woodducks and 2 Mallards
On Sunday after getting home from the Talbot Bird club walk and
Checking Coveys landing for the Ruff[ No luck as others who looked on
Sunday ] I heard Bob whiteQuail calling while I was doing some long
put off yard work .
