Hello again,
First, I remembered the two species I left of my list
of 15 species from Takoma Park this morning: Mallard
and Carolina Wren.
I visited a portion of Northwest Branch that goes
upstream from Colesville Road during that late
morning. Among the many birds I saw there, were two
Cooper's Hawks that seemed to be performing a
courtship flight, a Mallard with some small ducklings,
ten Double-crested Cormorants flying, circling, and
soaring, a Yellow-billed Cuckoo, a Veery, and a
persistently singing Louisiana Waterthrush.
It is a great day to be out and about.
Best,
Rob Hilton
