They come every year - but I stay antsy until it happens. Last night (Wed) at
6:30 p.m. the kitchen feeder announcement came - "There's the Rose-
breasted Grosbeak!". One grosbeak immediately turned into 3 males squabbling
for feeder space. Black, white and rose just a flapping, branch-hopping ...
and perching too - nice underwing looks. A single female soon followed. The
Indigo Buntings didn't seem to mind all the fuss. Ahhh - now my spring yard is
complete for another year.
Feeder watching - its a tough job, but someone has to do it. Now if only
Evening Grosbeaks reciprocated the favor in winter.
